Geachte nabestaanden, alle betrokkenen en belangstellenden,
Allereerst willen wij u allen een gezond, gelukkig en hoopvol 2022 wensen. Graag willen wij u informeren over de huidige stand van zaken omtrent het monument Fukuoka 14b Nagasaki en de website http://Fukuoka14b.org
Monument Fukuoka 14b Nagasaki:
In onze vorige nieuwsbrief hebben wij u al op de hoogte gebracht van de voltooiing van het monument Fukuoka 14b op 4 mei 2021 en de daaraan gekoppelde voltooiingsceremonie, georganiseerd door het Japanse comité. Vanwege de aanhoudende Coronacrisis, konden wij helaas en wederom er met z’n allen, niet bij zijn.
Volgens Japans gebruik was er een kleinschalige voltooiingsceremonie, georganiseerd door het Japanse comité. Nadien hebben wij via een Zoom meeting aan het Japanse comité en alle vrijwilligers onze dank overgebracht met het fantastische resultaat.
In oktober j.l. is er overleg geweest met het bestuur van de Stichting en het Kizuna comité over een nieuw vast te stellen datum voor de officiële ceremoniële onthulling van het monument. Samen en in nauw overleg met het Japanse Comité zijn we uitgekomen op zaterdag 3 september 2022.
Ook is er nauw overleg met de Nederlandse Ambassade in Japan. We zijn op dit moment ook druk doende om invulling te geven aan het draaiboek voor de officiële ceremoniële onthulling.
Met de huidige regels (Covid-19) mogen er maximaal 60 bezoekers aanwezig zijn bij de onthulling. Voor diegene die al hebben laten weten hierbij aanwezig te willen zijn, is er nu al de gelegenheid om een hotelkamer te boeken in Nagasaki, welke bijvoorbeeld via Booking.com zonder kosten geannuleerd kan worden, mocht het onverhoopt toch weer niet doorgaan.
We hopen oprecht dat we met velen en met trots, het monument Fukuoka 14b op 3 september 2022 officieel ceremonieel mogen onthullen.
De datum 3 september 2022 hebben we ook gecommuniceerd met de organisatie van monument Kamp Fukuoka 2, die een week later hun ceremonie gepland hebben. Mocht het allemaal doorgang kunnen vinden, dan zullen zij ook het monument Fukuoka 14b gaan bezoeken met een bloemlegging.

Op de website http://Fukuoka14b.org staan onder de button monument / nieuws, de foto’s en video’s van de voltooiingsceremonie van het monument, welke op 4 mei 2021 (dodenherdenking in Nederland) heeft plaatsgevonden in Nagasaki. Hierbij was de pers massaal aanwezig en is dit in een speciale nieuwsuitzending van NHK television uitgezonden. Hou vooral onze website in de gaten voor het laatste nieuws.

First of all, we would like to wish you all a healthy, happy and hopeful 2022.
We would like to inform you about the current state of affairs regarding the Fukuoka 14b Nagasaki monument and the website http://Fukuoka14b.org
Monument Fukuoka 14b Nagasaki:
In our previous newsletter we already informed you about the completion of the Fukuoka 14b monument on May 4, 2021 and the related completion ceremony, organized by the Japanese committee. Due to the ongoing Corona crisis, unfortunately and again we were all unable to be there.
According to Japanese custom, there was a small-scale completion ceremony organized by the Japanese committee. Afterwards, we conveyed our thanks to the Japanese committee and all volunteers via a Zoom meeting with the fantastic result.
In October last there has been consultation with the board of the Foundation and the Kizuna committee about a new date to be set for the official ceremonial unveiling of the monument. Together and in close consultation with the Japanese Committee, we set the date at Saturday September 3, 2022.
There is also close consultation with the Dutch Embassy in Japan. We are also currently busy finalizing the script for the official ceremonial unveiling.
With the current rules (Covid-19), a maximum of 60 visitors may be present at the unveiling. For those who have already indicated that they want to attend, there is already the opportunity to book a hotel room in Nagasaki, which can be canceled without costs via Booking.com, for example, in the unlikely event that it does not take place again.
We sincerely hope that we will be able to officially unveil the Fukuoka 14b monument on September 3, 2022 with great pride.
We also communicated the date September 3, 2022 with the organization of monument Kamp Fukuoka 2, who planned their ceremony a week later. If it all goes ahead, they will also visit the Fukuoka 14b monument with a flower laying.

On the website http://Fukuoka14b.org, under the button monument / news, you can find photos and videos of the completion ceremony of the monument, which took place on May 4, 2021 (remembrance day in the Netherlands) in Nagasaki. The press was present en masse and this was broadcast in a special news broadcast by NHK television. Please keep an eye on our website for the latest news.
